My Home- A Walk Through Children's Memories of Darfur

 
 

MY HOME, a new multimedia exhibit by i-ACT, takes you through children’s journeys, a walk from a home that was destroyed—where family and friends were killed, and which now is only in their memories—to a home that is supposed to be temporary —where they stand in lines for handouts, and which gives them a new name: refugee.

Prior to the performance, JWW will present its 2010 iWitness Award to RUINED’s Pulitzer Prize winning playwright, Lynn Nottage, at a special VIP dinner. The JWW iWitness award is presented to Ms. Nottage for her outstanding work and activism related to the ongoing conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Following the performance, JWW Co-Founder and President Janice Kamenir-Reznik and JWW Executive Director Tzivia Schwartz Getzug will join the cast on stage for a ‘Talk Back’ conversation with the audience about the play, as well as Jewish World Watch’s recent visits to and work in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
